stp10.jpgAt a National Federation Nation meeting a few years back I heard what has turned out to be the creed I've preached since then. I overheard two State Presidents talking about STP. The only thing I could think of was I missed a sponsor announcement, and we had a gas treatment as a new sponsor. I went over to see what it was about, and at first was confused by the conversation.

theBaitsCoFed200x150.jpgThe tournament was the Colorado Bass Federation Nation (CBFN) State Team Qualifying Tournament (STQT) held on Truman Lake, MO. The CBFN has one tournament per year to decide who will make the State Team to represent Colorado at the next divisional tournament. The top state angler at the divisional will move up to the National Tournament to compete against the rest of the Western Division State Champions for a Federation Angler spot at the Bassmasters Classic. >>> read more

Colorado Bass Federation Nation members can fish the State Team Qualifying Tournament for a chance to represent Colorado in regional and national Federation tournaments.  Anglers have the chance to move all the way up to the Bassmasters Classic.

bass_youth100.pngThe Bass Anglers Sportsman Society (BASS) and The Colorado Bass Federation Nation (CBFN) understand the importance of promoting our youth. With help from 3 of our adult clubs the CBFN promotes youth angling by supporting 3 Junior Bass Clubs currently on the Front Range of Colorado with hopes to have more possibly on the Western Slope. The 3 clubs consist of the Northern Colorado Junior Bass Club, affectionately known as the Fighting Fishsticks, based out of the tri-city area of Northern Colorado (Greeley, Ft Collins, Loveland), The Denver Junior Bassmasters covers the central portion of Colorado and is based in the Denver area, The Colorado Junior Bass Anglers is our newest Junior club and is based out of the Pueblo/Colorado Springs area and covers the southern area of Colorado.

AlaRig_200.jpgDemand for the Alabama rig is extraordinarily high right now and almost certainly higher than it will ever be again. At Andy Poss' TheAlabamaRig.com, all of their items are listed as being "temporarily out of stock" and the backlog has been listed as five weeks for over a week. It's obviously going to take them a while to catch up. Meanwhile, on the "gray" market, Alabama rigs made by Poss' company were selling on eBay for nearly $150 while homemade versions of the rig were going for about half that. > full story


2011 State Team Qualifying Tournament at Truman Lake, MO

Chris-MazichIMG200.jpgThe Colorado Bass Federation held the 2011 State Team Qualifying Tournament at Truman Lake, MO on April 11-15, 2011. The first two days are official practice days and the tournament is a three-day draw format where the 6 top finishing anglers qualify for a boater position, and the 7-12th place finishers qualify for co-angler positions to represent Colorado at the 2012 BASS Western Divisional Tournament.
